Our van chose the BEST moment of all to break down. Right? Gosh. NOT. DAMN THAT SILLY VAN!!! So. We hitch-hiked. Yup. in the 21st century. We hitch-hiked.
All we needed to do was get to the metro station.
The moment we stepped into that car on the road towards the metro, something broke deep down inside. It broke all over again about 4 minutes later when we zoomed past the metro station and picked up speed down a deserted street. Well... more like a 10 tone weight smashed against my already low heart. It all began to put itself back together again when we were let off at a deserted metro stop... though my low heart sank even lower into my fake Converse tennies as I realized that we´d probably miss our metro, which meant missing our bus. I couldnt really figure out which was better - our missing the bus, or the fact that the finance person would have the left side of our brains for breakfast (dont ask my why the left side).
We rushed our sorry behinds (and my fake Converse´s) all the way to the bus station, all the while hopeing deep down inside that the bus would be late (for crying out loud THIS IS SPAIN!!) But noooooop.. the bus was on time. And it had LEFT. But no worries... we only had to wait a measly 6 hours in the station. Cool. Time to catch up on sleep.
Oh right. We forgot about the security guard.
Apparently you´re not allowed to sleep on your bag in the corner of the station like any self respecting freak. You HAVTA USE THE BENCHES!!!
So we slept on the benches. Well. We TRIED to sleep on the benches. It went like this.
I tried to lay down on the bench and get comfortable till the little dirty braided black cleaning man (no im not raciest) shook his little black finger at me (again, im not raciest). So i had to sit up. Because I just KNEW he´d tattle on us just cuz he COULDNT sleep on the benches. So we sat up and slept on our bags. Well.. we tried... till the security guard tapped us on the shoulder and said we couldnt sleep. COULDNT SLEEP??? Like there was some silly law about us not being allowed to sleep. Gosh. I just knew that silly cleaning man was jealous.
So then we sat about and wrote silly things in silly notebooks and ate silly MacDonalds happy meals and Esy moaned about not being rich enough to buy the CBO (Chicken Bacon and Onion) burger thing. We also got kung-fu stork and we found out that there is no man or woman in kung-fu stork. He, i mean, uh, she, oooh gosh...um... i mean, IT, can fornicate in many ways. Amazing hu? I´ll leave it up to you to get a happy meal whith kung-fu stork so you can find out HOW IT DOES IT.
And we caught our bus. wow!!! I have ONE thing to say about that. LOS MINIMOS!!!!!
And that is pretty much the end of our adventerous adventure... except that by the time we got to the appartment... we were uncerimoniously dumped with the kids to feed and settle in bed... AND watch till people came home with we HOPED was an aweful lot of money.
And then we watched old people do karaoke and explored the whole 100 meters of street that make up our "downtown" (we stay "downtown Los Belones" cool hu? noop.)
And thats the end of the one way trip to Los ballonies. Stay tuned for the return trip (if we make it till then that is)
Peace and love.......
Oh wait.. one more thing.... arthur..... ARTHUR!!!!

It wasn't half as bad a day as I expected. We will forever be linked to one another because of this experience.
